Historique :	Maguerite-Zéolide Lécrans est née à Bordeaux en 1819. De père inconnu, elle est la fille de Clarice Lecran, âgée de 16 ans. On ne sait rien de l'éducation et de la formation de Marguerite Lécrans. Elle apparaît simplement au Salon de 1848 avec deux portraits. Elle effectue plusieurs copie pour le compte de l’État tout au long de sa vie. En 1862, elle se voit confier la copie des Pélerins d'Emmaüs du Titien (Louvre INV 746) pour 800 francs. Cette copie est le tableau présenté aujourd'hui. Par la suite, Zéolide Lécran bénéficie régulièrement de commandes de l'État jusqu'en 1874. La qualité des copies de Z. Lécran lui permet encore de vendre des copies jusqu'en mai 1880 où elle vend une copie de la Sainte Catherine du Corrège. Marguerite Lécran devait vivre encore dix-sept ans, jusqu'en février 1897.
